Vacancy: horticultural work

Looking for some traditional horticultural work?

Howard Nurseries is looking for a new stock person to look after our extensive stock plants collection.

We are looking for a person with horticultural experience who is willing to take on this task ideally for 5 days a week, but we can be flexible and accept 3 or 4 days per week.

It will include a lot of outside work, planting, looking after and digging up these plants.

You will be supplying our propagation, splitting and container department with plants for propagation or potting.

You must be self-motivating as you’ll be working alone a lot of the time, but also able to work in a team when bigger projects are undertaken.

Ideally you will have a PA1 and PA6 certificate or must be willing to follow a course to gain these.

We work with beneficial insects were possible but, pest, disease and weed control are part of the job.

You will also need to be able to drive a tractor to take and bring back plants from the field.
