Matthew Selfe

I joined AF Affinity in 2020, having spent several years in retail. My previous career gave me valuable customer service experience, something I pride myself on delivering to the highest standard here at AF.

Forging a career in Fuels

Starting my journey as Fuels Specialist, fast forward 3 years and I’m now Affinity Fuels Procurement Manager. The first few months were a steep learning curve, getting to grips with the complex world of fuels. But I’m part of a great team here, and we share our knowledge and experience with each other.

Affinity Fuels currently serves over 7,000 customers, delivering domestic heating oil across the whole of the UK. I’m very proud of how Affinity has grown since my time here and with the arrival of an online portal this winter, Affinity’s future is very exciting.

As part of your AF Fuels team, I also assist and support our farming and rural business Members with their fuel orders. 

Making music

Outside work I enjoy family time with my wife and 2 children. I enjoy most sports but particularly football, boxing, snooker and skateboarding.

My greatest passion is music – its been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I play guitar and have played in bands since I was 15 (that’s 24 years). Over the years we’ve played thousands of gigs; I can’t think of a UK city where we haven’t played over the years, as well as a couple of shows in Paris.
