Fay Hallett

When I joined your AF Fuels team, I had no fuels experience. I am in fact the youngest employee at AF. Now, nearly two years later, I consider myself a well-rounded expert on the liquid and solid fuels we procure for Members every day. The world of fuels is constantly changing and one thing I really enjoy is learning something new.

Different from one day to the next

My role as an AF Fuel Specialist comes with a variety of responsibilities. From administering Tankscout (our fuel tank monitoring and ordering service), ordering and issuing Fuel Cards, to discussing our members’ LPG requirements for bulk gas deliveries or cylinders.

I enjoy the ‘unknown’ of the fuel market and the daily opportunities to share insights and information with our Members to help you make decisions about when to order. 

No two days are the same in the Fuels team. In fact, no two hours are ever the same. Whether speaking to new or current Members, discussing their fuel requirements and what products may suit them is at the heart of what I do.

I enjoy being kept busy, but ensuring we provide our Members with excellent service is the most rewarding part.

Me and my menagerie

When I’m not at work, you’ll most likely find me hacking my horse Sophie, nicknamed ‘Witch’ (for her ‘cheeky’ personality). I enjoy taking her on local pleasure rides or cross country schooling but most importantly, I love being home and looking after my ever growing array of animals! 

I have a smallholding with seven Indian Runner ducks, a variety of chickens, four guinea pigs, two cats and five dogs.  It’s not unusual for me to pop out shopping or go for a ride and return home having “adopted” another four-legged pet.  My family dread it when I open my car boot and reveal another animal!

I also enjoy attending country & game fairs with my German Shepherd puppy, Dolly, or taking her clay pigeon shooting.  I am trying to convince my other half she will pick up for him next season so perhaps you may see them out in the field …
