Let's meet ...
My first month at AF has been a very positive one. I started in my role as a Member Account Manager two weeks before the Christmas period. Perhaps it seems an odd time of year to start a new job, however this has allowed me to really bed into the job and means I have hit the ground running in the New Year!
These first few weeks with AF Member Services have been the time of year when we sort out all the membership renewals. I, along with the rest of the team, got involved preparing and mailing around 3,500 packs containing renewal letters and the very smart AF Magazine. My favourite part of the edition is the Changemakers interviews from AF Members Tom Martin and Patrick Barker. I’m fascinated by how they have changed their farming practices, moving in a more regenerative and sustainable direction and it’s exciting to see what the future holds. Also within this first month, I have been helping to analyse the results of our 2022 AF Member Satisfaction Survey. Thank you to every Member who took the time to share your feedback. We have since been contacting each of the you who responded to get some in depth detail about your comments. I am of the view that there is no point in sending surveys out if we then don’t follow up on the results. This has been an excellent exercise for me as it has got me on the phone speaking to Members with varying opinions, getting to know points of view and a sense of how AF sits in your business structure.
Each of us in the Member Services team has a spread of Members to focus on. I am eagerly anticipating every chance in the year ahead of us to connect with Members allocated to me. I look forward to conversations, either on the phone or face to face, with ‘my’ AF Members and, especially through representing AF at shows and other events across the country, meeting even more of you.
Before joining AF, I worked for a large grain merchant. Working in trading gave me detailed knowledge of the grain market, along with seed and fertiliser. I bring all that and more to my work now with you. It is my responsibility to help you make best use of being part of your cooperative buying group.
