Abigail Ulrych
I joined your AF Technology team in November last year and hit the ground running working on a range of exciting development projects.
Tech team
AF’s in-house development team is focused on designing, programming and maintaining AF’s own staff- and Member-facing systems. We also work with external partners to integrate our systems with non-AF products and deliver new digital solutions to staff and Members.
In the pipeline
One example of what’s to come is eCommerce phase 2, which will follow on from our success with the AF Online fuel ordering service and increase the scope of products available to order online.
I am very excited to have been involved from an early stage in our latest project – building a new and improved Member facing system which is modern, easy to use and fit for the future. ‘My AF’ will succeed AF Interactive, and we have some ambitious ideas of how we hope to develop this as a digital tool for your rural business.
Over the last few months, we’ve been working hard to develop phase 1 which includes the layout and design of the website, secure processes for signing up, signing in and signing out, functionality for viewing and updating account and company information, and the foundations for how we store and handle your data. ‘My AF’ will be accessible on a range of devices from your mobile phone or tablet, through to your laptop or desktop computer. There’s lots more to come and soon we will embark on phase 2, through which we plan to bring in another segment of functionality.
A bit about me
I have an arable farming background, have a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University and spent several years working as a Rural Chartered Surveyor. Wanting to explore my passion and interest in technology, I returned to university to undertake a master’s degree in computing science.
Joining the team at AF provided a fantastic opportunity for me to bring together my experience in rural industry with my enthusiasm for technology and software development.
Outside of work you’ll find me back on the farm training my cocker spaniel, Jasper, or out on the diamond playing baseball with the Norwich Iceni Baseball Club. I play in the Norfolk Local League for Sea Dogs and have recently signed up to play for one of the county sides, Norwich Warriors. I also enjoy snowboarding, rugby, tinkering with cars and riding motorbikes.
