New partnership to maximise grain marketing returns for farmers

22 May 2026

AF Group and Camgrain are proud to launch a new collaboration, designed to maximise value for farmers by combining competitive input purchasing with industry-leading grain storage and marketing solutions.

This collaboration brings together two key elements of farm profitability: AF Group’s ability to minimise the cost of inputs and Camgrain’s expertise in maximising returns through storage, handling and grain marketing.

In practice, farmers can choose how involved they wish to be. Camgrain manages storage, quality assurance and logistics, while providing the flexibility for growers to either rely on pooled marketing expertise or take a more hands-on approach with direct selling routes.

The partnership introduces a range of practical benefits for farmers choosing to work with both co-operatives, including discounts, grain cleaning and storage, and lucrative opportunities for grain marketing via forward contracts, specialised pool marketing, and competitive marketing platforms.

Co-operatives working together

Camgrain is a farmer-owned co-operative providing storage, drying, logistics and marketing services for combinable crops including wheat, barley, oilseed rape (OSR), oats, linseed, beans, peas and organic crops. Its storage facilities are located across Cambridgeshire (Cambridge and Linton), Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, giving growers access to modern, efficient infrastructure across key arable regions.

Simon Willis, Group CEO is positive about working more closely with co-operatives such as AF Group: “As a farmer owned co-operative, Camgrain is delighted to be collaborating with AF Group - a similar farming co-operative. In these challenging times for UK arable crop farmers, I believe it is vital that we work together with other farming co-operatives, to reduce the costs each other’s farmer members incur operating their businesses. We see the products and services offered by AF Group as complimentary to our own offering and believe this is the start of a long-term relationship.”

AF Group’s chief agricultural officer, John Barrett believes the partnership offers great benefits to farmers: “What do Camgrain do? They store grain well, giving you the best opportunity to be able to sell that grain to buyers who know what they're going to get. They will dry it at the lowest cost, store it at the lowest cost, and assure it to the highest standard so you can get the best value out of your crop.

“Combine this with AF’s specialists procuring inputs at best value, this collaboration presents an excellent opportunity for farmers to maximise returns on their crops at a time when that is more important than ever!”

Camgrain continues to invest in advanced technology to maximise the value of members’ crops. Its facilities include high-capacity colour sorters capable of removing contaminants such as ergot at rates of up to 100 tonnes per hour, efficient drying systems, and a new BoMill protein sorting plant capable of processing 15 tonnes per hour. This technology enables grain to be segregated by protein and nitrogen content, helping target premium markets and improve overall returns.

AF Group is a leading agricultural co-operative focused on helping Members reduce input costs, improve efficiency and strengthen profitability through collaboration and scale. “Farmers interested in accessing the benefits of the collaboration should mention the AF Group–Camgrain partnership when making an enquiry. Teams at both organisations will work together to ensure eligible growers receive the relevant offers and support.
