The way farmers and land owners will be financially supported is moving away from Basic Payments to heavily incentivised environmental improvements. As such, AF have been looking into the ways in which members can access support and advice for these environmental schemes to gain maximum value.
The Environmental Land Management (ELMs) scheme is due to replace Basic Payments. Currently there are opportunities open for the 2021 Countryside Stewardship Scheme for new agreements and capital grants as a stepping stone to ELMs,In addition, next year, all those who currently receive payments under the Basic Payments Scheme will be able to apply for the Sustainable Farming Incentive. However, farmers are already able to volunteer for the pilot scheme which is currently open for expressions of interest until 11.59pm on 11 April 2021.
AF have engaged with various parties of expertise in these areas and will shortly be sending out a series of updates to help members access the right support for them.To find out more about funding for your business, please contact the Grants team on 01603 881 894 or grantresource@theafgroup.co.uk.
