Today, as AF’s Chief Commercial Officer, he brings this wealth of experience to the co-operative, combining a deep understanding of business with a passion for innovation and collaboration to benefit every Member.
“At first glance, my background may seem a little removed from the world of farming and rural enterprise.
“Over the past 30 years, my career has centred within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. I have held a range of sales, marketing, and commercial leadership roles. These experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in strategic thinking, commercial delivery, and the importance of building trusted, long-term relationships.
“Most recently, I led a consultancy business that helped commercial organisations engage meaningfully with the NHS. This involved supporting clients with organisational development, strategic planning, commercial strategy, brand launches, and building internal capabilities. In all these, one principle has always been central to my approach - delivering the highest possible standards of client service and ensuring that every partnership creates genuine, measurable value."
“I firmly believe that the core principles of good business - clarity of purpose, understanding customer needs, operational excellence, and collaboration - are universal. These fundamentals are as relevant to a co-operative such as AF as they are to any large commercial organisation. Grounded in these principles, I hope to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to help shape AF’s continued success.
