Find drainage solutions with Naylor and AF…
At AF, we are constantly revieWing the suppliers and manufacturers we deal with to better suit our member’s needs. This allows us to be more agile with the range of materials we can supply and has allowed us to make changes where necessary.
We’ve recently undergone a process of analysing a specific area of the business – drainage solutions – to see if we could improve what we offer to members.
The area we looked at was civils, specifically Twinwall and Land Drain. It became clear that the best way forward was a negotiated deal direct with a manufacturer, facilitated through our existing chain of suppliers.
The manufacturer who gave us the best offering in terms of price, quality and coverage was Naylor.
Naylor Industries is an award-winning, British manufacturer of building and construction products. The fourth-generation, family-owned company was established in 1890 by Wilfred Naylor. Over its 129 years, Naylor has transitioned from producing claypipe works at Denby Dale to manufacturing other materials such as concrete and plastic.
Today, the company is run and owned by Chief Executive, Edward Naylor. Edward took over in 1993 when the company was operating at a turnover of £12m. It now operates at a turnover of £60m with 400 employees.
AF focused on getting an agreement on the following products:
N-Drain
Twinwall pipe. This is suitable mainly for agricultural use, although can be used where certification is not required.
Metro-Drain – This is fully BBA certified twinwall pipe and sizes range from 150mm up to 1050mm. This range is what is called a ‘heavy duty surface water solution’ and can be used for:
- Highways
- Commercial and Industrial
- Housing developments
- General Civils
Land Drain
This is a ‘light sub soil drainage solution’, which can be offered in both non-BBA and Kitemarked options. Applications include:
- Agriculture
- Golf courses & sports fields
- Landscape & domestic
Naylor have recently starting working with Jewson Civils and Frazer Civils who’re both part of the Saint Gobain group. They have committed to putting the Naylor stock profile in all of their current 20+ branches. This additional supplier enables AF to service the whole of England, Scotland and Wales for these products, so no member will be excluded – wherever they are.
It also means that we can offer not only very competitive rates but also a very good level of service. The deal gives our members the flexibility and ability to collect from their local supplier, either Burdens in East Anglia or Jewson Civils nationally, if required.
