Covering around 52 hectares, with 600 crop plots, over 400 exhibitors and 2 full days of talks and demonstrations, Cereals ‘25 gave new AF Account Manager Gemma du Feu the chance to immerse herself in all things arable.

It’s great to see how a business is continuously investing and looking to grow whilst keeping both human and livestock’s best interests at heart.

“I explored different technologies on show. For example, Hutchinsons’ Omnia Farm Management tool. It gave me an insight into how technology can help farmers manage land efficiently and review aspects of their business for certifications including Red Tractor.
“I think we stopped at every other stand to have a chat or pick up a useful leaflet to take home for some late-night reading.”
“Farming can feel competitive. But at Cereals ‘25 I got a real sense of camaraderie amongst everyone attending. Farming businesses fight battles against weather, government, market fluctuations and other variables, and it was clear to see they’d rather do that together than against each other!
“My colleague Louis Clabburn, who I travelled to the show with, enjoyed seeing the rise of robotics in farming, with lots of machinery in action at the show. Louis came across a company called PES Technologies, who've developed a hand-held device for in-field measurement of soil health indicators including organic matter, microbial biomass and pH levels directly to the user’s smartphone!
“Like me, Louis observed and took great pride in the evident resilience in farming. Farmers are feeling a bit low now, but we could still sense optimism across the industry.”
