Adblue-tiful savings: the perks of bulk buying

Jake Thurtle AF

The multitude of pressures on agricultural operations today mean many are seeking ways to reduce costs. AF’s Jake Thurtle explains one way AF can save for our Members with procurement of bulk Adblue.

Most Members currently purchase Adblue in IBCs, which is expensive, time-consuming and inflexible. Why
not move to bulk deliveries of up to 12 months’ supply of Adblue into a static tank? In return for a one-off investment in a bulk storage tank, you can cut order hassle, get rid of IBC rental costs, and reduce deliveries on farm.

Save money

Bulk buying Adblue delivers significant cost savings. On average your AF Fuels team saves Members up to 30%
on bulk deliveries compared to IBC’s.

Streamline deliveries

Our suppliers can make bulk deliveries within 3 – 5 days, whereas IBCs take closer to 5 – 7 working days. Bulk storage and deliveries have the added benefit of reducing risk of contamination, by providing a much
more advanced method of storage with a built in pump, meaning the cap is taken off less, so less contaminants
enter the Adblue. A bulk tank is significantly less prone to damage and leaks than a single skin IBC.

Convenient and efficient

Bulk purchasing simplifies logistics and reduces frequency of placing orders and taking deliveries. In fact, if we install Tankscout, you don’t even need to place an order.

The minimum order quantity is 1,000 litres, with no maximum, so you can have more Adblue stored on site, giving a constant supply for your equipment and minimising risk of running out.

There’s no need to check serial numbers on IBCs due for collection – even more time saved. Even better, bulk tanks come with an electric pump already installed as standard, so you can save time refilling with Adblue.

From yard to field

We’ve heard great feedback from Members who combine bulk stored Adblue with portable tanks mounted
on pickups. During peak periods Adblue can be taken out to the field so operations aren’t disrupted for
refuelling. AF can procure a range of portable tanks, which also have their own in-built electric pumps, available
in both 12v and 230v.

Reduce environmental impact

Reducing the number of deliveries to farm, you’ve cut down road miles. And that’s before you reap the benefits of reduced emissions by using Adblue. Removing IBCs from the supply chain decreases the amount of plastic waste too.

For businesses using over 1,000 litres Adblue a year, switching to bulk deliveries seems an obvious choice. Not only can it save your business money, it can also improve operating efficiency and reduce your effect on the environment.
