AF has chosen Lloyds Bank as new provider for the AF Charge Card, concluding months of negotiation by Procurement Manager Stephanie Chapman. Read why Stephanie knew it was time to switch, and what our new AF Charge Card now offers Members.
“It was definitely time for a switch. We’d had a decade with our previous provider but their rising costs, and lack of innovation made us look for a more proactive partner. Most important when making the switch was to do it with minimal disruption to Members already using AF Charge Cards.
“With over 2,000 card users, the risk of disruption was considerable and required careful management. We needed the transition to be as seamless as possible for our Members.”
“Lloyds tailored its offer to match our Members’ needs. The process of making the switch to them was methodical and collaborative, with Lloyds providing dedicated support, regular check-in meetings and several practical improvements. These included more efficient batch payments and better processes.”
“New AF Charge Cards and PINs arrived early so we could get them out to Members in good time, avoiding operational downtime. Cards were switched on a week or so in advance of the old provider’s cards being switched off, so Members had an overlap.
“As a result, there was little disruption to Members, and apart from a new card to use, very little actually changed.
“For the team here at AF, new tools such as batch payments and delegated card management have significantly reduced admin time and improved internal workflows, so we have more time to resolve Member queries and find even more ways to save Members time and money.
“Lloyds have also helped us identify opportunities for greater returns, including smarter use of deposits and supplier data, which have created immediate and longer-term value for Members.”
“Our work does not end here. We have regular reviews with Lloyds to review progress and discuss new opportunities. From our initial goal of improving Charge Card services, our working relationship with Lloyds has grown to include improved reporting tools (for Members and AF), and exploration of additional financial products.”
“Be bold. Don’t stay with a provider just because you always have. Challenge assumptions and look at what else is out there. That’s exactly what we did for our Members to get the best possible AF Charge Card.”
