Jake Nicholls is CEO of the multi-million pound, third-generation family business Tru7 Group Ltd. From its base in Suffolk, Tru7 employs over 300 people and provides services nationwide to construction and agriculture including: plant hire (self-drive or with operator), earthworks services, mixers, bagged & loose aggregates, tipper lorries, grab hire, muck away, demolition services, and commercial vehicle hire.
“I don’t have a great deal personally to do with AF. But that’s a good thing! As CEO I usually deal with anything that’s not going so well. So the fact that I don’t really deal with AF myself is a very good thing! But day to day my team do. We buy around 2 million litres of fuel a year through AF!
“As we grow, we spend millions of pounds a year on fuel - it’s the lifeblood for our business – and it’s vital we’ve got security of price. If we didn’t, our business wouldn’t run. The service we receive from the AF Fuels team is excellent."

“The diesel replacement Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is something else we’re buying through AF now. We’re seeing more demand from customers for us to use it on development sites such as Sizewell Power Station.”
“We’ve got over 350 AF fuel cards in the business, filling up almost 180,000 litres a year at the pumps, and they’re crucial to keep our vehicles on the road, wherever in the country they’re working.
“We also hire tractors through AF. And now we’re looking into AF Charge Cards to see if they help us consolidate our spending and reduce office admin.”
