From my background working in agricultural start-ups, I am well placed to help AF in its ambition to grow and demonstrate the value of co-operatives to the UK’s rural community.
My former position as operations director of an agricultural supply chain business gave me a detailed understanding of the challenges the rural sector faces. Being part of a co-operative means Members not only get the best available prices, but are part of a wider community sharing common interests and vision. I helped grow a business from start-up, so am motivated by growth and working in a dynamic environment.
From Fuels to Marketing, our Members’ experience and their needs, are at the forefront of what I do day to day.
During three years in your AF Fuels team, I focused on meeting Members’ needs by giving reliably excellent service and support. Now, in my marketing role, I organise and attend events for our Members as well as managing our ever growing social media platforms. I enjoy working closely with a talented team who share a passion for creating experiences that strengthen Member relationships and drive engagement. The biggest change for me is being able to put a face to the many names I’ve had the pleasure of talking to on the phone over the years.
I have spent my whole career in the business of communicating with, for and about farming and related issues, in the UK and much further afield.
Whether it’s in words – spoken or written – in images or in film, at length or in short, I enjoy the diversity and potential power of our many ways to communicate. I work with a wide variety of commercial companies and research organisations and now it is my pleasure and privilege to also help shape and sharpen the many ways AF informs our Members. It’s all about sharing what matters and what can make the real difference.
Being part of the Communications team gives me the opportunity to use the knowledge and understanding I have developed of AF Members and their farm and rural businesses.
Having joined AF in 2016 and worked within several Procurement teams in that time, enabled me to listen to our Members and understand their needs. I enjoy working as part of a team that is passionate about what and how we communicate. We work closely with our colleagues from across AF to share insights and information to the right Members at the right time. We strive to develop new ways to reach Members and harness our expertise to deliver AF communications that add real value.
